Spam– the food, not the email– is highly processed animal parts. What is the so-called all-veggie Impossible Burger? Sarah Mitroff ignores the obvious and simply tells you where you can get a meatless burger.
The Impossible Burger is winning over vegetarians, vegans and even meat eaters for emulating the texture and taste of a beef burger. It even “bleeds” like a rare or medium-rare burger does.
Admittedly, BK’s Impossible Whopper tastes like a decent, well, Whopper. I ate one this past week in the States. Zero beef. Michelle Santiago Cortes dug up a few of the ingredients:
Ingredients include coconut oil, sunflower oil, soy protein, and a funky ingredient called soy leghemoglobin, which is a fancy way of saying soy hemoglobin. If the word “hemoglobin” sounds familiar, it’s because it’s running through your veins.
It’s bloody good but seems more like vegetable spam.
